Wedding for a co-worker

May 9th, 2014 at 03:16 am

Not sure on what to do. I have be invited to a wedding but my partner and I don't know the couple other than as a new co-worker. We will be on vacation and can't attend. What do we do for a gift?

A gift card to a restaurant? $25? Or simply a card with your well wishes.

Etiquette says if you cannot attend a bridal shower there is no need to send a gift. Invitations to a wedding send a lovely card of congratulations and something small off their registry to follow etiquette.

If it is someone you don't really know well, the choice is yours whether you send a gift or not. Something simple off a registry can be an acknowledgement of their special day without breaking the bank.

I would ask other co-workers if they are invited, and if a joint gift might be an option.
