The sell-off challenge 2013

January 3rd, 2013 at 02:09 am

In the last few days I've listed three items to sell on line. I have been working on a list of sellables in my home and have about 15 items so far. Not sure how sales will be just after the holidays but it's worth a try. If anyone wants to join me I'd be happy to have the company. My goal this year is to sell $1,000 worth. I'd love to target $100 per month but will settle for the $1,000. Anyone in?

I will be putting a couple items up for sale this month and will report once I have sales. I don't think I'm going to set a dollar goal. I'm sure your posts will keep me motivated to keep selling!

I just sold a total of about $32 in books, dvds, and games to a few different sites, so that's my start. I'd be happy with $50/month.

Mjrube, I'd be happy to sell anything. Where did you sell your books and how do you make any money when you include the shipping? Thanks for coming on board!

I did a post on 31 Dec to start the challenge off but at least we are both thinking about the same thing. I often sell books to cash4books.net(http://www.cash4books.net/?ref=230767) and they pay for postage.

I'll check that website out Beawealthywarrior. Thanks for the tip and welcome aboard. I actually posted one item before December 31st.

I'm hoping to sell some things this year. I have a box set aside for items to sell on craigslist, ebay, etc. I may even try to find a few things to resell from yard sales and estate sales.

Back again Wealthywarrior. I just found out the books that I was about to donate are worth more than $10. I'm going to look for more. Thanks again for the tip!!!

Good idea to try and sell some things. I have a Coke cooler that I'm going to try to sell locally.

Well, looks like several of us have things to sell for cash. Yipee!!

Waaaah, Cash4books is only available in the US. I'll see if I can find something similar here.

rob62521, I've heard that there are people who just collect Coke items. Good luck!

@ wowitsawonderfullife. I sell books at cash4books dot net. The shipping is paid by the company, so no worries there. I have made everything from $1.00 to $15.00 for books that I buy at a local book sale. I put the money towards debt payoff. They seem to buy mostly recently published on all subjects, but plug in your isbns just to give it a try. If you want a referral, just go to my blog crazyliblady.savingadvice.com and click on the link to cash4books.

Hello Mom from missouri, good luck with your goal. Crazyliblady, I think that is only available in the US. Does anyone know of a site in Canada that buys books?

I used to sell things online all of the time and loved that it could lead to some decent additional income, but now that we live overseas it is not as readily available. I don't know what is available in Canada, but I hope you have some insurance of plenty of sales, and wish you all the success in meeting that $1000 goal!
    Jerry
