Credit card debt gone, and 5 years ago today...

Today I made my final payment on my last credit card debt. I paid off $8,850 this year (not including interest), and a total of close to $16,000 since I joined this blog in May, 2009. Coincidentally it was exactly 5 years ago today that I left my well paid position in finance due to the layoffs resulting from the crash of 2008. I'm not yet making the salary that I made in 2008 but a review is overdue and perhaps I might be back where I started from. As a contract worker I miss paid vacations, paid sick days, benefits, and all the other perks.
Thank you to all my SA supporters who have lifted me up when I was about to give up.

    Kudos for getting it done, getting $16 K paid in spite of job loss, PT work, lower income and a long list of challenges. We're all pulling for you to get your raise and get your income up to back when. It's so exciting to read SUCCESS

    wow- that is a lot of changes in 5 years. Even though you are not at the salary you were at before, sounds like your finances are in order and able to handle the changes.
