Update on quiting smoking and what's with the spam?

November 29th, 2012 at 07:08 pm

I just finished my 4th class on smoking cessation. It sure is different from the old days. Long ago it was run by the lung association and only discussed the medical implications. Now they discuss neurological habits (ie - body responses to lifting your arm), habits, reframing by during neurolinguistic programming, withdrawal and available aids etc. This is working for me. When I started the class I expected my success as a one out of ten. I was a three out of ten on Tuesday. But today I tried a nic mint and it worked! Mind you, it only made me delay for 45 minutes but I wasn't nutso coo-coo needing one. It was strictly a habititual smoke break - I finished reading the paper, therefore outside for a smoke. I'm thinking these new aids might work this time. I think I'm up to a four out of ten!

Meantime, what's with all the famale spam that's on everone's page. Can't this get blocked by the moderators? Please?

I just deleted the spam on my blog. It has been going on for a week or more now I think. I've only had to delete twice on my blog so far.

Oh, and great job with your smoking cessation thus far! Believing you can do it is important I would guess.

Wow good for you, glad to hear that everything is working out. As far as the spam, I have no clue. I've been deleting it.

    Way to go!

The spam always gets bad during the holidays. I delete it and report the username of the spam to Jeffrey and Nate. That's really all we can do. They stay on top of it pretty good if they know about it.

I'm glad the smoking program seems to be working for you.

Family members have told me that a book called "The Easy Way to Stop Smoking" made all the difference for them. Sorry, I can't remember the author.

Good for you! Your wealth will improve greatly and eventually, you won't miss it. It's been a hard road for me too. I know my wallet and body both thank me.

There has been a lot of research into smoking cessation on both the medical and the psychological side, and that leads to a ton of effective modalities (as your success is showing!)... and hey, quitting smoking offers some of the best insurance for both your health and your bank account. Good luck and keep us posted!

I had some spam on some of my blog entries too and deleted it.

As for your anti-smoking program...way to go!
