I am a 52 and am working on being fabulous! Downsized from the finance industry in December 2008. Mother of 2 boys, facing an empty nest in 2014. Long term contract employee. Still working on manifesting my passions into income. I have paid off $17,500 in debt since I joined this forum. My last credit card debt was paid off in November 2013.
That's one of the main things that has ruined ebay for small sellers. Unless you are selling higher priced items, the fees destroy you. I used to sell regularly. At one point back in 2000, I always kept 100 auctions running and I did well but most of my items are lower priced like under $20. Today, doing that is impossible. Between rising fees and rising postage, it just isn't worth it. I can't sell the items for enough to cover everything and still make a decent profit.

That's about what NE has figured them to be as well - about 10%, then add on the 3% Paypal fees .. it really eats a chunk of the profit.
